Stepio Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Stepio handles information when you use the Stepio mobile application. Stepio is a daily planning app that helps users create smart step cards, add manual plans, manage reminder preferences, save history and favorites, and export or share created plans.
Stepio does not require an account to use the app. Your saved plans, step cards, history, favorites, language preference, reminder preferences, and time zone preferences are primarily stored locally on your device.
1. Information We Collect
Information stored locally on your device
Stepio stores certain information locally on your device so the app can provide its planning features. This may include:
- Manual plans you create, including title, optional note, selected date, time, completion status, and reminder preferences.
- Smart step cards you create or save.
- History and favorite step cards.
- Language preference, onboarding status, reminder time zone preference, and app settings.
This information is used to display your plans, history, favorites, reminders, and app preferences inside Stepio.
Information used for Smart Step Card generation
When you create a Smart Step Card, Stepio may send the information you provide to the Stepio backend in order to generate a card. This may include:
- Selected category, focus intent, energy level, available time, tone, and length.
- Optional note or goal text that you enter.
- Selected date and basic local planning context, such as whether the selected day already has plans.
- Selected app language.
Stepio uses this information only to prepare a practical planning suggestion. Stepio does not use this information to provide medical, legal, financial, health, or professional advice.
Advertising information
Stepio may display ads using Google AdMob or related Google Mobile Ads services. Advertising partners may collect or process certain information for advertising, ad delivery, fraud prevention, measurement, analytics, and performance purposes. This may include:
- Device identifiers, such as advertising identifiers or app/developer-bounded identifiers.
- Advertising data, such as ads shown or interacted with.
- Usage and interaction data related to ad performance.
- Diagnostic and performance information.
- IP address or approximate location derived from network information, where applicable.

2. How We Use Information
Stepio uses information to:
- Provide daily planning, smart step card, manual plan, history, favorites, and reminder preference features.
- Generate Smart Step Cards based on the details you choose or enter.
- Save app preferences such as language, onboarding status, and reminder time zone selection.
- Allow you to export or share plans or step cards using your device’s sharing features.
- Show advertisements and help advertising partners measure and improve ad performance.
- Improve app stability, performance, and user experience.
3. Exporting and Sharing Plans
Stepio may allow you to export, download, or share created plans or step cards. Sharing is controlled by you and may use your device’s built-in sharing options. Once you share exported content outside Stepio, that content may be handled by the app, service, or person you share it with.
4. Third-Party Services
Stepio may use third-party services to support app functionality and advertising. These services may process information according to their own privacy policies.

5. Tracking and Advertising Choices
If Stepio uses advertising technologies that require tracking permission under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework, the app may request your permission before tracking you across apps or websites owned by other companies. You can manage tracking permissions in your device settings.
You may also be able to manage ad personalization through your device settings and Google’s advertising settings.
6. Data Retention
Plans, step cards, history, favorites, and preferences stored locally remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Information sent to the Stepio backend for Smart Step Card generation is used to process the request and provide the result.
Advertising partners may retain advertising-related information according to their own policies.
7. Deleting Your Data
You can delete saved plans, step cards, history items, or favorites inside the app where deletion options are available. You can also remove locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device.

8. Children’s Privacy
Stepio is a general planning and productivity app. It is not specifically directed to children and does not require children to create accounts or provide personal information. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can review the request.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect information handled by Stepio. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device and operating system secure.
10. International Use
Stepio may be used in different countries or regions. Third-party service providers, including advertising partners, may process information in locations outside your country or region, subject to their own policies and applicable law.

Stepio is a planning and productivity tool. Smart Step Cards and manual planning features are for informational and organizational purposes only. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update it, we will revise the effective date above. Continued use of Stepio after changes are published means that you acknowledge the updated policy.
